Social Worker, Victim Services Officer
Elspeth Madden– An unsung champion in our society, Elspeth is one of the persons in Jamaica who meets, listens to and coaches individuals as they heal after experiencing the pain of conflict, violence, and trauma. A Social Worker with the Victim Services Division (VSD), since 2010, Elspeth’s Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from the Jamaica Theological Seminary, has been complemented by her participation in multiple training and certification courses. Among these, are workshops and seminars in Conflict Resolution, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Play Therapy, Cultural Re-socialization Intervention, Overcomers in Action, and Special Intervention Projects in schools.
Elspeth’s training has qualified her to be a facilitator in a number of these programs as she has had hands-on experience in using these tools with groups and individuals. Her position as a Victim Services Officer with the VSD has required her to make numerous presentations in areas such as stress management, behavioral modification, grief management, relationship management, and parenting.
